BANANA CHEESE ROLL

BANANA CHEESE ROLL

6 large raw bananas

2 teacups boiled. peas

1 teaspoon lemon juice

4 tablespoons cornflour

2 teaspoons cumin seeds

2 small sticks cinnamon

2 cloves

1 teaspoon green chilli paste

2 tablespoons grated cheese

salt to taste

broken vermicilli or bread crumbs

2 tablespoons ghee oil for frying

For the dipping batter

1 teacup water

1 teacup plain flour (maida)

A tea time snack.

Preparation time : 20 minutes.

Cooking time: 20 minutes.

Serves 15-20 pieces.

Boil the bananas with the skin until soft. Remove the skin and mash well. Add the lemon juice, cornflour and salt.

For the stuffing

Heat the ghee in a frying pan. Fry the cumin seeds for a minute. Add the cinnamon and cloves. Add the peas, green chilli paste, salt and grated cheese. If you like, add a little black salt.

Cool the mixture until dry.

How to proceed

Take a little banana dough, pat it lightly. Add the stuffing and seal the sides.

Repeat with the remaining banana dough and stuffing.

Mix the plain flour in the water and drop the stuffed bananas in it.

Remove and roll in the vermicilli and deep fry until golden.

Serve hot.

 

Note:    You can also substitute bananas with potatoes to make potato cheese roll.
