Millet-Fenugreek Crisps


1/2  cup fenugreek leaves, freshly-chopped

1 cup millet flour

1 tsp oil

Salt to taste

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp garlic (chopped)

1 tsp sesame seeds

1 tsp ginger-chilli paste

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

Flour to roll

Oil for frying


1. Sprinkle half a teaspoon of salt in the fenugreek leaves and set aside.

2. Mix together millet flour, one teaspoon of oil, salt, pepper, garlic, sesame seeds, ginger- chilli paste and turmeric powder.

3. Mix fenugreek leaves with flour mixture and make a semi-soft dough with water.

4. Divide the dough into cherry-sized balls. Take one ball at a time, place it on a floured surface and with the help of your palms, shape into small puris.

5. Prick them with a fork and fry in hot oil over a medium flame, till crisp.

6. You could also place them on a greased oven tray and bake in a hot oven (150°C) for fifteen minutes.

7. Serve with chutney or yogurt as a teatime snack. Store it in an airtight container.
