STEAMED OMELETTE SNACKS FOR DIABETICS

STEAMED OMELETTE SNACKS FOR DIABETICS

Ingredients (Serves 4)

4 cheeses

2 tbsp boiled peas

2 tbsp grated onion

1/4 tsp grated ginger

Pinch of salt

Freshly crushed pepper to taste

Preparation

Separate the cheese yolks and whites. Beat the yolks lightly and mix the rest of the ingredients except the cheese whites. Whip the cheese whites till stiff. Fold into the cheese yolk mixture. Lightly grease a container with a tight fitting lid. Pour in the cheese mixture and steam in a pressure cooker for 5-7 minutes. Cut into pieces and serve. This can be made into a curry also.

 

Variation: Use fish in place of chicken or other vegetables. Rice cooker or dhokla steamer can be used for steaming.
