Adi Granth in Guru Granth Sahib
Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the most sacred and the only revered religious scripture of the Sikhs. Due to its simplicity, universality and stress on inner piety, it has been declared a 'World Heritage'. Despite the variety in composition, composers, ideas and ragas, it declares firm faith in one Absolute God and claims all human beings to be one. That one Absolute God is formless, pure, true and the creator of all. This 'Oneness' is the most sublime act of synthesis. The sacred scripture aims at synthesis and achieves it. It is the greatest and most glorious contribution of the book. The other is its «emphasis on the basis of equality and oneness of all human beings". It should not be treated only as a heritage but each one of us must try, honestly and sincerely, to live up to it in 'action, thought and speech', for making the world a better place to live and prosper.
Sri Guru Granth Sahib (better known via its abbreviation SGGS) contains universal, eternal knowledge and is capable of increasing inner power and making life easier. It gives the three most important things for a cultured life: sweetness, light and energy.
